Head Slide

For some, this move is instinctual, but sometimes even accomplished dancers have difficulty with ‘Head Slide.’ If you are having trouble with this move, try practicing in front of a mirror. After stretching your neck (check out the warm-ups in Episode 2 and Episode 24 for a good neck stretch), hold your hands up to your head, parallel to each other, about an inch from your ears. Attempt to touch your whole ear to your hand. The important thing is to not just touch the top of your ear, but to touch your whole ear to your hand. Think about keeping both eyes level while you are doing this. Once you have mastered this, try different hand poses, such as prayer hands above your head, for a truly exotic movement.
