Village Shimmy

The truth is, the shimmy is all in the knees. They may not be the sexiest part of your body, but they make the good stuff jiggle. When performing the ‘Village Shimmy,’ remember to keep your knees relaxed, never locked, and moving back and forth, working in opposition to each other as quickly as you can. Keep your pelvis tucked under, shoulders down, and try to keep your body as relaxed as possible. Imagine you are a Thanksgiving turkey — if you are doing this shimmy correctly, and your body is totally relaxed, the shimmy, generated by your knees, should move all the way up your body through your thighs, tummy, and chest to make even your big, red waddle flap in time to the music!
